New Batch Of Clothes For $1 Each!

It's time for another round of the $1 clothes I have bought. I've had some real find lately, particularly a Ralph Lauren shirt which I love. Lately I haven't been finding as much because some clothes are too big or just not my style. If you want to find the beautiful clothes like I do, just head down to your local thrift store or even a second hand boutique. Anyway, here they are:

Second Hand Style

I thought I would show the outfits I've been buying lately. I got to a hospice/op shop/thrift shop and every week I find amazing clothes of all types of brands for only $1 each. I can't stop, it's like an addiction. I don't even bother buying clothes from shops any more (unless it's underwear/bras/socks/swimwear).

I really love these lyrics, Iggy totally knows how to stamp on the haters. If you like Hip Hop you may just enjoy this track, released as a single from her EP Glory. Youtube video below:

Dubstep Recommendations Volume 2

It's time you all experience some Burial! Here is an incredible song of theirs called Moth, it gives me chills. There's something about the repetitive pulsing with an overlying beat that licks around the occasional vocals. If that isn't enough for you, you'll soon discover halfway an intermission of delicate churning of another kind which eventually leads back into the pulsing sounds.

I highly recommend you check Burial out, and I will be posting more dubstep artists in up coming days.

Dubstep Recommendations Volume 1

Liquid Stranger

Traveling the uncharted terrains of sound, Liquid Stranger’s creative output spans a wide range of electronic music in all of its colours and shades. Always pushing the sonic boundaries and merging genres, he consistently creates an ever-evolving blend of unique atmospheres and cutting edge grooves.

With 4 highly acclaimed full-length albums under his Liquid Stranger moniker, this multi-talented producer has established himself as the epitome of trans-national dubstep, covering everything from Latin, Asian, Eastern European and Jamaican Dancehall dubs. His first two albums, ‘The Invisible Conquest’ and ‘The Intergalactic Slapstick’ (Interchill 2007 & 2009), generated a substantial buzz with DJs and listeners alike while his next two albums, ‘The Private Riot’ and ‘Mechanoid Meltdown’

If you are really new to dubstep definitely start with him. He covers the basics of dubstep, melting tracks down and building them up.

Zed Bias

If you want atmospheric, deep and dirty dubstep you have to check this guy out. He creeps into your rooms at night and wobble rapes you. He's actually more UK Garage than dubstep but these are some of the dubstep tracks he's done that are nasty as fuck.

The Gaslamp Killer

The Gaslamp Killer is a Los Angeles-based DJ whose eclectic style ranges from psychedelia and world music to dubstep and left-field hip-hop. Associated with Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder Records, he made his production debut in the late 2000s with a series of EPs. Born William Benjamin Bensussen, he originally comes from San Diego, CA, whose downtown Gaslamp District's bar scene inspired him to name himself the Gaslamp Killer in disgust for much of the patronage. As a producer, the Gaslamp Killer made his debut in the late 2000s, releasing, for instance, a split single with Free the Robots, "The Killer Robots".

Personally I really enjoy his psychedelia, if you are into it you'll love him! He doesn't dabble into dubstep as much as he could but he's well worth a listen by all means.

Coki

Dubstep Producer, DJ and MC from the UK. He's also part of Digital Mystikz and together with Mala (4) and Loefah he's running the DMZ label.

He is insanely cool, pimps out heavy set tracks with eerie wobbles and sometimes throws in hip hop elements.

Music Review

Ellen Allien - Dust

 01. Our Utopie
02. Flashy Flashy
03. My Tree
04. Sun The Rain
05. Should We Go Home
06. Ever
07. You
08. Dream
09. Huibuh
10. Schlumi

First track 'Our Utopie' = sex. A distinctive lead up made my ears prick up in pleasure. Fading in and out of distorted vocals gave it this eerie post apocalyptic vibe. ‘Flashy Flashy’ was average; it seemed a bit simple and repetitive. ‘My Tree’ is more of the same. ‘Sun The Rain’ had a nice riff to it, very dreamy and light. It later gets a little more intense, as though it’s reaching its climax. I can’t understand a word Ellen is singing because her voice is so distorted.

‘Should We Go Home’ had this creepy lost in the woods sound to it which was interesting but it kind of put me into a trance and I accidently drowned out of the song; seems that it would fit more in a thriller movie to be frank. However, the next song ‘Ever’ really had a beat. It reminded me of Daft Punk in some respects from the deep beat that began from the start. I like heavy set songs with thick bass.  Like ‘Sun The Rain’ the song ‘You’ has a riff rather than solely an electronic sound. This time I can actually understand Ellen’s vocals. Still, a bit boring.

‘Dream’ was awful. It had both repetitive beats and vocals that never really brought anything decent to the table. Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the album. I couldn’t wait for it to end to be honest. The tracks weren’t set out in the album very well and I didn’t really get a theme or purpose to it. I’d only ever listen to ‘Our Utopie’ again and nothing else. I feel like the tracks were too simple for my liking. Ellen is considered Minimal Techno and it’s definitely not my cup of tea.

Fashion Faux Paus

Does anyone else think Zowie (New Zealand singer) is struggling desperately to catch up with the trends? She's doing the whole shoulder pads and tights thing, for example:

I mean Lady Gaga already kicked this theme off and many artists/retail stores have already followed it, can I say it's already been done to death? In addition I'd like to complain about the no pants thing. Okay serious slutty pop tarts, we get that you want to be 'in' but you don't actually all have the legs to carry off no pants. I think Rihanna is the only acceptable copy cat as she actually suits it, in addition to the dominatrix style dress.

Speaking of the latest trends, is anyone else slightly scared of the transsexual Sci Fi theme going on? I'm actually liking the style but dayum! I supposed sometimes it's hard to tell a male model from a female sometimes with how they are made up to look.

In regards to the Sci Fi, I am loving this dress in particular:

MAJOR DROOL - Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2010 Alien heels

This is why Alexander McQueen is  my favourite designer, RIP Dear Sir. Post Apocalyptic is looking good too from spring 2010. If anyone else has some fashion complaints feel free to comment. Other than that I will continue to sit on my high horse waiting for something else to be horrified at.
